I'm completely unsure whether I know you or not, as you seemed to be friends with a lot of my friends...But I'm adding you anyway because you left quite a few interesting comments on my flists entries liked what I saw on your public entries to. I'm Ciara by the way, in the chance you might know me, ex Cardiff rock scene regular. My ljs usually pretty self-based possibly dull if you don't know me.
Its entirely possible we have met in real life - xxxrated, queen_est, dork_mistress. guiltless_sin and pinkbeene are real life friends of mine. I l;ive in Herts but have parents who live near Bristol, so I go back there during the holidays to meet up with the Bristol/Cardiff crowd and also sometimes head to Bogiez. I was there at NYE 2007 and 2008, so it is possible we met there!
Have added you back - my LJ can be quite self-absorbed though, I do warn you! ;)
I saw your comment on polipholo's page and followed the link:-) I've got an interest in Classical literature so the username piqued my interest.
I'm an archaeologist who writes fiction in her spare time - writing archaeology can itself be like writing fiction, so the two are not entirely unrelated.
I grew up in the 80s, and have to confess to a secret admiration for the likes of Gary Numan, Duran Duran, OMD, Human League, and their ilk. Though I'm more of a Depeche Mode fan than a NIN fan - I really like some of their stuff (The Fragile, in particular) but I could take or leave other tracks. I like anything I can write to - I cut my teeth on star wars fanlit then moved onto historical fiction. Bit of a huge leap, but... It seems to have worked!!
Cool, you seem really interesting! If you would like to add me, please do. :) In a nutshell, I'm a History teacher who has recently extracted herself from a very unpleasant school, who is now planning the future. I do like metal, goth, and industrial, and I love hiking and the outdoors. I'm trying to write a novel at present, so having another writer on my list would be lovely.
I hope I didn't offend with the comments I left on Poliphilo's LJ.
I can see both sides of the argument these days. I started out a very woolly liberal, but I'm finding myself getting more and more unsympathetic to the woolly liberal viewpoint these days!
My mother taught French. She hammered it into me, from a very early age, that I shouldn't be a teacher. I followed her advice.
These days, I don't think any school could be described as 'pleasant!'

Clytemnestra is one of my favourite Ancient Greek women - are you inspired be her?
